Podoliak named the conditions for the mass return of Ukrainians from abroad.
Return of Ukrainians from abroad
According to ТСН: Ukrainians may begin to return from abroad if clear rules, security guarantees, and a fair decision-making system are established in Ukraine.
This information was announced by the advisor to the head of the President's Office, Mykhailo Podoliak, in an interview.
He believes that ministries and other government bodies should minimize administrative pressure and ensure transparency in their work.
“People will return if they understand that there are rules here. This is key,” emphasized Podoliak.
Podoliak also noted that it is important to prioritize the stability of legislation, the independence of the judiciary, and the overall sense of justice.
“Stable rules, an independent judicial system, a sense of justice, where you can turn to the appropriate authority if you have any problems and receive a fair result. All of this will bring many people here,” said the advisor to the President's Office.
He also stressed the need to ensure safety for the population. According to Podoliak, Ukrainians must be confident that state structures can guarantee their protection, as well as that the risks from new military threats are significantly reduced.
Another important condition for return is the country's reputation.
“If a person understands that they will live in a country that has a reputation that looks as effective as possible, they will return here,” added Podoliak.
According to experts' forecasts, after the end of the war, only 30% of citizens will return to Ukraine, while earlier there were hopes for 60%. The change in forecast is related to significant destruction and the adaptation of Ukrainians to life abroad. The main factor for return is safety, which is also influenced by the availability of jobs and housing. It is least likely that those who left in large families will be able to return.
Podoliak's statements highlight the importance of stability and security for many Ukrainians currently abroad. For their return to their homeland, clearly defined rules are needed, as well as confidence that the country can provide an adequate standard of living and safe conditions. We can only hope for a swift recovery and stabilization of the situation in Ukraine.
