To ensure the cleanliness of the car's windshield, you need to have a quality washer fluid. Instead of purchasing it at an auto shop, you can easily prepare it at home, saving money and avoiding the use of harsh chemicals. This was reported by the portal Slash Gear.
How to Prepare the Fluid
Simple ingredients needed to make quality washer fluid include distilled water, dishwashing liquid, white vinegar, and alcohol. Liquid dish soap helps remove road dirt and insect residues, white vinegar reduces streaks, and rubbing alcohol is used in winter to prevent the fluid from freezing.
- Add 1 cup of distilled water.
- Put 1 tablespoon of dishwashing liquid.
- Add 1 cup of white vinegar.
- For winter, add a bit of distilled water and 1 cup of alcohol (2 cups during other times of the year).
- Shake the container well and pour the fluid into the washer tank.
Advantages of Homemade Fluid
Besides saving money, homemade washer fluid is more environmentally friendly since rubbing alcohol is less toxic compared to methanol found in many commercial products. Additionally, you can customize the fluid's composition to meet specific needs of the driver by adjusting the amounts for more effective cleaning.
By using homemade washer fluid, you can not only save money, but also be assured of the quality and effectiveness of the solution, which remains friendly to the environment. Furthermore, you can adjust its composition depending on weather conditions and other individual needs.Read also
