According to Espreso.tv: France experienced a deadly heatwave that drove mortality rates far beyond what was anticipated. Official figures reveal that the number of deaths caused by the extreme temperatures exceeded expected levels by 122%. In the Île-de-France region, one of the hardest-hit areas, approximately 3,000 people lost their lives.
The gap between predicted and actual fatalities reached 1,565. Across the country, the total excess death count surpassed 2,000. The scorching conditions lasted from June 22 to June 28, leading to severe public health consequences.

This crisis underscores the growing dangers posed by climate change, especially during the summer season. Without adaptation strategies and stronger public awareness campaigns, such extreme weather events may become a recurring public health threat for many nations.
