Shoei introduces the first helmet with augmented reality: what the new model can do.
According to Korrespondent.net: Japanese company Shoei, one of the leading manufacturers of motorcycle helmets, has presented a new model GT-Air 3 Smart - the first helmet that combines augmented reality technologies. This development is the result of collaboration with the company EyeLights, which specializes in creating compact systems for motorcyclists.
Features of the new helmet
The helmet is equipped with a nano-OLED projector that displays information on the motorcyclist's field of vision about speed, navigation, incoming calls, and warnings about police radar. The image 'hovers' at a distance of about three meters in front of the rider, allowing them not to be distracted by the dashboard or smartphone.

According to information from EyeLights, they have solved one of the main problems of projection systems - readability under direct sunlight: the OLED projection remains visible even in bright conditions. The company also claims that this system can reduce the motorcycle rider's reaction time by 32%.
The GT-Air 3 Smart has a fully integrated audio system: speakers, a noise-canceling microphone, a universal intercom that is compatible with many brands, and supports voice assistants. The battery lasts for about 10 hours of operation.
The helmet is already available for order, and the first deliveries will begin in June. Its price is $1199, which is almost twice as much as the regular GT-Air 3. However, the manufacturers emphasize that investments in technologies that enhance safety and reduce the risk of accidents can be far more valuable than any savings.
It should be noted that it was previously reported that Samsung released a competitor to Apple Vision Pro at half the price.
Asia is strengthening its position in the field of innovation, while the USA is losing momentum.
Shoei again emphasizes its leadership position in the world of motorcycle helmets by integrating modern technologies to enhance safety. This new model will be interesting not only for professional motorcyclists but also for amateurs who value innovation and comfort during rides. The first tests will show how useful these innovations will be in practice.Read also
