Japan considers security guarantees for Ukraine: what the Prime Minister stated.
Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba expressed readiness to provide security guarantees for Ukraine following the report from the NATO Secretary General that about 30 countries are working on this issue. He noted that while there is currently no specific action plan, Japan is ready to participate in ensuring security for Ukraine in accordance with its laws and capabilities.
'We will perform our role properly, guided by our legal limitations and capabilities,' emphasized the head of the Japanese government.
It should be noted that according to the Constitution of Japan, the country has the right to use force only for its own defense, which limits its international actions. However, Japanese military participates in peacekeeping and anti-piracy missions abroad.
Ishiba also expressed his support for the efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump in achieving peace in Ukraine through negotiations with President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders.
'The most important thing is to ensure the quickest ceasefire and establish a just peace,' emphasized the Prime Minister of the Japanese State Council.
Japan is ready to participate in ensuring security for Ukraine, responding to NATO's challenge and expressing support for the resolution of the conflict in Eastern Europe.
