According to Espreso.tv: A meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko took place in Valdai on May 15, 2023. The discussions centered on bilateral cooperation between Belarus and Russia, as well as the current international situation. Notably, on the same day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed concerns that Russia is attempting to pull Belarus into the ongoing war.

According to Ukrainian leadership, Belarus is actively supporting Russian military operations by providing training grounds for Russian troops, conducting joint exercises, and treating wounded Russian soldiers. Reports also indicate that large-scale military infrastructure is being built in the Gomel region, highlighting the deepening military collaboration between Belarus and Russia.

“Belarus has no plans to enter the war”

“participation in the war makes no military sense”
