Updates for iPhone 17
The standard iPhone 17 received significant upgrades that were previously available only in Pro versions.
The device is equipped with a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion support – a first for non-Pro series models. The refresh rate varies from 1 to 120 Hz, allowing for the Always-On feature to display the time, widgets, and Live Activities. The maximum brightness reaches 3000 nits, setting a record for iPhone. The new Ceramic Shield 2 coating provides three times greater scratch resistance and reduces glare.
The device runs on a new A19 chip manufactured using a 3nm process. According to the company, the new six-core processor outperforms the A15 Bionic by 50%, while the five-core graphics deliver twice the performance.
Notably, there’s the N1 chip that supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread. It enhances AirDrop and Personal Hotspot stability. In several countries, the iPhone 17 will only be available in the eSIM version.
The camera block, for the first time in the base iPhone model, now features two 48-megapixel cameras: a main and an ultra-wide with macro mode. The main camera also supports 2x optical zoom without loss of quality. The new iOS 26 version received a Bright style, highlighting skin tones and boosting color saturation.

Features of iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max
The pricier models – iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max – feature a new unibody design made from a single piece of aerospace-grade aluminum alloy, enhancing durability and improving heat dissipation. The new cooling system with a vapor chamber effectively prevents overheating, even during intense use like gaming. The back panel is protected by Ceramic Shield glass, while the front has the updated Ceramic Shield 2 coating.
Both models run on Apple's flagship A19 Pro processor, composed of two high-performance and four energy-efficient cores, a 6-core graphics chip, and an upgraded neural engine, which has four times the performance of the A18 Pro.
While Apple did not specify the exact battery capacity, it has been revealed that the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max have the largest batteries in iPhone history and can provide up to 39 hours of video playback.
All three cameras are now 48-megapixel and 56% larger than the sensors on the iPhone 16 Pro. The telephoto lens can now take 48-MP shots with 4x zoom. At 8x zoom, the resolution declines to 12 MP thanks to pixel binning, which improves light capture.

New iPhone Air
The new iPhone Air is Apple’s thinnest smartphone in history — its thickness is just 5.6 mm.
The device replaces the underused iPhone 16 Plus and features a 6.5-inch LTPO Super Retina OLED display with a ProMotion refresh rate of 120 Hz, brightness up to 3000 nits, and Ceramic Shield 2 glass.
For compactness, Apple chose a single 48 MP module on the back and a front camera with an 18 MP resolution that supports the Center Stage feature.
The model's performance remains high due to the new A19 Pro processor, which is also installed in the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The company claims that the smartphone is close in performance to the MacBook Pro.
Apple has not disclosed battery capacity, but promises 'all-day battery life'.
The iPhone 17 starts with 256 GB of storage at a price of $799. Available in three colors: lavender, sky blue, sage, as well as classic white and black.
The iPhone Air with 256 GB is priced at $999 and comes in black, white, light blue, and light gold variants.
The iPhone 17 Pro with 256 GB of storage starts at $1100, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max starts at $1200. For the first time, a 2 TB version is available, priced at $2000 for the Pro Max, with colors including dark blue, orange, and silver.
