Apple unveiled the M5 processor: MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, and Vision Pro received updates.
According to Korrespondent.net: Apple officially introduced the new generation of its processor - the M5, manufactured using third-generation 3-nanometer technology. Along with it, three new devices appeared: 14-inch MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, and the updated Vision Pro headset.
Advantages of the new M5 chip
The M5 processor has 10 cores: six of them are energy-efficient, while four are high-performance, which allowed for a 15% increase in speed compared to the M4. The graphics processor provides up to a 45% boost in performance. The bandwidth of the unified memory has grown by 30% and now stands at 153 GB/s. The updated 16-core Neural Engine facilitates faster processing of data related to artificial intelligence and multimedia.

MacBook Pro 14”
The main novelty is the MacBook Pro 14”, which runs on the M5 chip. The design remains familiar: Liquid Retina XDR display, brightness up to 1600 nits in HDR, as well as three Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI, SD slot, MagSafe 3, and Magic Keyboard with Touch ID. The new model is available in silver and 'space black' colors starting at $1599. The SSD storage has been increased to 4 TB, and the RAM to 32 GB. Sales will begin on October 22.

The iPad Pro also received the new M5 chip along with two auxiliary chips - C1X for faster communication and N1 for support of Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread technology. This ensures a 50% increase in data transfer speed in networks and a more stable connection. The unified memory has a bandwidth of over 150 GB/s, and the 256 and 512 GB models come with 12 GB of RAM. Fast charging support has also been added - up to 50% in 30 minutes with a 40W adapter.

Vision Pro Headset
The updated Vision Pro headset now also runs on the M5 chip. The device features a new Dual Knit Band strap for enhanced comfort, as well as improved performance: the Vision Pro can display 10% more pixels with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz (previously 100 Hz). Thanks to the new chip, artificial intelligence functions operate 50% faster, and battery life has increased to 2.5 hours in normal mode and 3 hours in video mode.
The price of the headset remains at $3499, and sales will also begin on October 22.
It is worth noting that previous news indicated exceeding expectations regarding demand for new iPhones.
