Apple may release MacBook Pro with M5 chip as early as October: details.
According to Korrespondent.net: Apple plans to release a new version of the MacBook Pro with the M5 chip as early as October this year, reports MacRumors. Currently, the supply of the 14-inch MacBook Pro model with the M4 chip is limited - users ordering custom configurations may receive their devices between October 23 and 28. This may indicate preparations for the launch of an updated model with a new processor.
Comparison with other models
Meanwhile, the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro options with M4 Pro and M4 Max chips are available with more standard delivery times - from October 15 to 20. The delay of the base 14-inch model looks notable: it is expected to be the first to receive the M5 chip, while modifications with M5 Pro and M5 Max are anticipated no earlier than early 2026.
Information Leak
A recent leak of FCC documents also hints at a rapid release. Only one model number for the MacBook Pro has appeared in the records, although Apple typically submits several options for different configurations. This suggests that the company will initially introduce the base model M5 MacBook Pro, followed by the higher versions.
Release timeline predictions
Predictions regarding the release timelines of new laptops remain conflicting. Earlier this year, Jon Gruber stated that the M5 MacBook Pro would be released by the end of 2025, but later pushed this forecast to 2026. In recent weeks, he once again noted that the release could take place between late 2025 and early 2026.
Potential impact on other plans
If Apple indeed presents the MacBook Pro with M5 in October and leaves the higher models for spring 2026, this may impact the planned launch of the OLED MacBook Pro, which was previously expected in 2026. They are likely to be postponed to 2027.
Upcoming Apple Events
It remains unclear whether Apple will hold a full-fledged October presentation. If the design changes of the new devices are minimal, the company might limit itself to releases through press releases, as has been done before. However, all previous major M-series chips - M1, M2, M3, and M4 - were traditionally presented at specially organized events.
It is possible that this year Apple will again organize a short online event similar to Scary Fast 2023, where not only the M5 MacBook Pro might be presented, but also updated iPad Pro, Vision Pro, Apple TV, and HomePod mini.
It is worth noting that it was previously reported that Apple is also preparing a new budget MacBook with a processor from the iPhone.

Thus, Apple is preparing new devices that could radically change a number of the company's products. The launch of the MacBook Pro with the M5 chip could become a significant milestone in the history of Apple laptops and affect the market as a whole. It should be noted that new technologies always generate great interest, and this release will be no exception.
