Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, confirmed that an enemy drone struck the area. The assault caused damage to private homes, a Nova Poshta postal branch, and a grocery store.
As of 1:40 p.m., four casualties had been recorded. Several privately owned vehicles also caught fire. Kiper stated:
“The full extent of the attack’s consequences is still being assessed. All relevant emergency services are responding at the scene, and the injured are receiving necessary assistance.” — Oleh Kiper
Broader Context and Aftermath
This incident is part of a larger pattern of hostilities. On the night of May 26, Russia launched a drone assault across Ukrainian territory. In Odesa city, one man was killed as a result, while in the Chernihiv region, a wildfire broke out in natural ecosystems.
The ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia continues to involve frequent shelling and aerial strikes. Damage to civilian infrastructure and homes from drone attacks endangers public safety and underscores the need for constant readiness among emergency response teams.
Local authorities are prioritizing assistance for those affected, a critical task amid rising regional tensions.
