Strike on Kramatorsk
According to UATV: On April 1, Russian forces attacked the city of Kramatorsk in Donetsk Oblast using Shahed attack drones. The assault left one person injured and damaged both an administrative building and a residential structure. A fire sparked by the strike spread across 60 square meters.
Between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM on April 1, a total of 361 drones were launched from Russian territory. Ukrainian forces managed to intercept or suppress 345 of them. These figures highlight the intensity of the aerial assault and the effectiveness of Ukraine's defensive efforts against drone threats.
Local resident Stanyslav Baldyn commented on the situation: 'Today in the afternoon, a Russian drone struck a residential apartment in a five-story building.'
This attack on Kramatorsk is part of Russia's broader strategy to deploy drones in the war, underscoring the critical role of air defense systems for Ukraine. While Ukrainian forces successfully downed the majority of the drones, civilian casualties and infrastructure damage continue to pose serious challenges for local residents.
Tensions in the region remain high, reflecting the ongoing conflict and the urgent need for international support to ensure civilian safety.
