Two Dead After Russian Drone Strike Hits Maternity Hospital and Residential Building in Odesa.
Odesa Under Attack
According to UATV: On March 28, the Russian military launched a drone assault on the city of Odesa, causing partial destruction of several structures and claiming two lives. One of the drones struck a maternity hospital in the Prymorskyi district. A victim later died in the hospital from sustained injuries, while the body of another person was recovered from beneath the rubble.
Three educational facilities in the Prymorskyi district were also damaged. In the Khadzhybeiskyi district, a drone hit a multi-story apartment building, sparking a fire. Emergency services continued their work at the impact sites despite ongoing air raid warnings.
Evacuation and Aftermath
Of the 81 people evacuated from affected buildings, 11 were injured, including one child. The situation was reported by Serhiy Lysak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration.
This attack on Odesa marks another escalation in violence across Ukraine, where civilian infrastructure has increasingly become a target in military operations. Such strikes not only claim lives but also damage critical facilities, disrupting daily life in urban centers. The rapid response of emergency crews highlights their preparedness, yet these incidents underscore the persistent security threats faced by communities throughout Ukraine.
