Ryanair airline responded to the detention of Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk at the airport of Polish Krakow. This is reported by Tribuna.com.

In the airline's explanation, it is noted that the incident occurred due to one of Usyk's colleagues who was denied boarding on a Buzz flight (a Ryanair subsidiary) from Krakow to Thessaloniki due to his inappropriate behavior. Usyk also decided not to board the plane, although there were no complaints against him.

After the plane landed, an airport employee called the police, who arrived at the scene.

It is noted that yesterday, September 17, People's Deputy of Ukraine Zhan Beleniuk reported on his Telegram channel about the detention of Oleksandr Usyk at Krakow airport. He also published a video showing Polish law enforcement officers putting handcuffs on the athlete. President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his outrage at the treatment of the Ukrainian citizen and champion and instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the police to investigate the situation. Usyk was released after being detained at Krakow airport.

Promoter Andrzej Wasilewski reported details of the detention at Krakow airport of the Ukrainian world boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk. According to him, the use of handcuffs during the detention was due to excessive gesticulation. Oleksandr Usyk and another man were removed from the flight, leading to the loss of their passenger status.
