US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that Ukraine could conclude an economic agreement as early as next week. He shared this in an interview with Fox News.
We have submitted a completed document on economic partnership, which is currently under review by the Ukrainians, and we hope to move to full discussions and possibly even obtain signatures next week.
According to Bessent, US President Donald Trump is ready to strengthen sanctions against Russia if necessary.
And President Trump, I believe, will not hesitate to strengthen sanctions if that gives him an advantage in negotiations.
When asked about Russian sanctions, Bessent replied that it would depend on the next steps of the Russian leadership.
This will be determined by the next steps of the Russian leadership, whether sanctions will be tightened or eased.
In a recent interview, it became known that Trump recognizes that Putin is 'stalling' the peace agreement with Ukraine.
