A key feature of this system is its extremely high operating pressure, which can reach 250 bar. This intense pressure creates specific fuel requirements, as the fuel must ensure the system's proper and reliable operation.
Furthermore, high temperatures within the system significantly increase the risk of component coking. This carbon accumulation can cause major engine issues, negatively impacting both performance and long-term durability. It's also important to note that the high-pressure fuel pump contains micron-level tolerances, making it exceptionally sensitive to fuel impurities. Using substandard fuel can lead to contamination and damage of these critical parts, which in turn compromises the entire engine's function.
Oleksandr Chalenko, Head of the Service Department at UKRAVTO GROUP, explained this to AvtoSvit. He emphasized that choosing the correct fuel is essential not only for stable engine operation but also for its extended service life.
