They were beaten to a pulp with a bat. A photographer exposed the abuse of children at a monastery of the Moscow church in Bukovina.
Chernivtsi photographer Edgar Kalanchа talked about a series of investigations he conducted regarding the Banchensky Monastery and its abbot Metropolitan Longin (Mykhailo Zara) from the UOC (MP). The photographer tried to shoot a documentary about the monastery, but after receiving letters from children, he began to receive reports of violence. He shared these stories on the program 'Espreso', admitting that some of them deeply affected him and even brought him to tears.
In particular, there were testimonies from the residents of the children's home at the monastery, who spoke about the cruel treatment and physical violence by Metropolitan Longin. One story concerned how the bishop beat a boy with a bat, and his protector, a girl, was also beaten for intervening on behalf of the boy who was suspected of stealing money from the school.

UOC (MP) Metropolitan and Hero of Ukraine Longin (Mykhailo Zara) has repeatedly found himself at the center of scandals due to his views and actions. He supported pro-Russian parties and publicly spoke about events that favored Moscow. He also accused the Ukrainian authorities of various troubles and persecuted priests of other nationalities, calling Kyiv 'cursed' and 'satanic'. All these events caused outrage and discussion in society.
