Training New Recruits of the 5th Separate Slobozhanska Brigade 'Scythian'

According to UATV: Instructors from the 5th Separate Slobozhanska Brigade 'Scythian' of the National Guard of Ukraine are putting new recruits through drills that closely mimic real combat conditions. These sessions take place at the brigade's training center, where battle-hardened instructors pass on their frontline knowledge and skills to fresh soldiers.

Some of these trainers have suffered severe injuries in previous engagements. For instance, an instructor with the call sign 'Veselyi' received a serious concussion from a tank shell, yet he continues his mission. He explains:

'I realized that I can teach people, talk to them, and demonstrate. That became my inspiration—to help others survive, to share my experience, and to try to train them.' Instructor 'Veselyi'

This highlights a deep commitment to the importance of training and preparing new soldiers.

Key Aspects of Training and Preparation

The program includes live-fire exercises where soldiers practice with the Makarov pistol and assault rifle. An instructor called 'Rysia' focuses on counter-drone tactics and notes:

'I want to pass on combat experience so they can learn. I’m holding a pump-action shotgun. It’s designed to take down drones.' Instructor 'Rysia'

This underscores the need to adapt to modern battlefield realities.

Dog handlers are also part of the training process. A handler with the call sign 'Kherder' works with his dog Emmy, conducting drills in various conditions and at different times of day. He emphasizes that 'you need to be very patient to train a dog. You also have to be gentle so that the dog understands you and you understand it.' This shows the critical bond between handler and dog in a combat training environment.

Overall, the training of new recruits in the 5th Separate Slobozhanska Brigade 'Scythian' is a vital step toward service readiness, with each instructor contributing to the development of highly skilled soldiers prepared for complex combat missions.

These exercises not only equip new recruits with essential military skills but also foster a spirit of unity and teamwork, which is crucial in modern warfare. Instructors who have experienced combat firsthand pass on their insights, significantly boosting the effectiveness of new soldiers' preparation. This highlights the importance of both technical and psychological training in the context of today's conflict.
