The government will ensure energy supply for the population by December 24: what does this mean.

According to ТСН: The government of Ukraine has set a goal to redirect the released energy resource of 1 GW to meet the needs of the population by December 24.

This was reported by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko.

“This is one of the steps that will help balance the energy system and reduce the number of outages for people,” Svyrydenko noted.

In addition, the government is working to increase electricity imports, restore generation damaged due to enemy attacks, and ramp up individual generation to ensure stable energy supply during the holiday period.

Energy expert Mykhailo Gonchar expressed concern about the deterioration of the situation in the energy system with the onset of cold weather. This is related to increased electricity consumption and critical damage to high-voltage transformers. The expert also predicts possible enemy attacks on water utilities, railways, and transport infrastructure.
