Combat medics will no longer be transferred to the infantry: Zelensky signed a decree.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, signed a decree prohibiting the transfer of medical personnel to military service not related to medical practice during martial law. An additional regulatory framework will be developed for this purpose.
The government must establish a ban on assigning military positions to medical personnel who do not have direct relation to medical practice during martial law. Exceptions will be made in cases where the individual desires such an assignment.
The government must also consider the issue of protecting conscripted medical personnel, rehabilitation specialists, and healthcare professionals. This concerns lifting restrictions on the number of conscripted workers in state and municipal medical institutions.
Provincial administrations must also determine the criteria for enterprises that are critically important for the economy and the livelihood of the population, as well as for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations.
"The transfer of medics to the infantry is unacceptable. They should work at stabilization points of brigades located in combat zones," - reported in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Earlier, lawmakers emphasized cases of transferring medical personnel to the infantry. According to MP Anna Skorokhod, a rehabilitation specialist known to her was assigned as a shooter, which excluded him from medical duties. Another MP, Oleksiy Honcharenko, reported an increase in cases of transferring specialized medical personnel to the infantry.
