According to Novyny.live: Ukraine's primary international airport, Boryspil, is set for a comprehensive upgrade of its operational and IT systems. The project, being developed with the Korean company KOICA, aims to implement cutting-edge aviation service technologies and is scheduled for completion in 2026.

Boryspil Airport has been closed to civilian aviation since February 2022. During this closure, a team of KOICA consultants worked on-site from January 26 to February 6, 2023, to develop the technical documentation for the forthcoming changes. The plan is to finalize all necessary documentation by 2026, after which the practical procurement phase will begin.

The Scope and Importance of the Upgrade

The modernization will involve updating core operational and IT systems, introducing automated passenger systems, and overhauling the digital infrastructure.

Alexey Dubrevsky, a representative of the airport, stated: 'Even under the conditions of closed airspace, we are comprehensively preparing the country's main aviation hub for the resumption of flights and operation according to modern international standards.'

According to available information, Boryspil Airport will be ready to resume passenger flights within one month of Ukrainian airspace reopening. This overhaul is a critical step in rebuilding the country's aviation infrastructure and ensuring modern passenger service standards.
