Tragedy in Greece: child drowned in hotel due to lack of lock on the doors.
Tragedy on holiday in Greece
According to The Sun: During a family vacation in Greece, a five-year-old boy drowned after going to the hotel pool alone before breakfast. This became known during the hearing of the case.
Little Theo Treharne-Jones was found unconscious in the water at a resort hotel on the island of Kos in June 2019. The tragic incident occurred due to the absence of a chain lock on the door of their room.
Theo was a cheerful and active boy, and this situation became an irreparable loss for his family.
Investigation and circumstances
The boy's parents reported that they did not notice when he left the room. It turned out that they failed to install a special lock on the door. This tragedy raised many questions about safety in hotels.
“We never thought this could happen to us,” said the boy's mother.
As a result of the tragedy that cut short little Theo's life, the family appealed to the authorities to strengthen safety regulations in hotels. The investigation of the incident may lead to changes in safety requirements, which we hope will help prevent similar cases in the future.
