Tourist from the UK accuses police officer of rape
According to The Sun: A woman from the UK claims she was raped by a police officer while she was handcuffed in the back seat of his car.
She reported that three police officers took her from the street in Oban, a small town near Marseille, and one of them attacked her after detaining her in their car.
GettyThe 37-year-old woman filed a complaint on September 10, explaining that she was arrested for 'obvious drunkenness'.
She claims she was handcuffed and forced into the car, after which one of the police officers sat next to her and kissed her.
“After the kiss, the officer allegedly 'penetrated her'.”
One of the police officers is accused of “rape and sexual violence, abusing the powers granted to him by his position,” and is currently in custody.
Another police officer is accused of “willfully failing to perform duty to prevent a crime or offense against the integrity of a person” and is under judicial supervision.
The third police officer is a corroborating witness in this case.
This case was first reported by the French newspaper Libération, citing prosecutor Nicolas Besson.
