Course of events
The mother and son were waiting in line for security checkpoint around four in the morning when the boy started crying.
Agba offered her assistance, but suddenly ran away with the boy.
The lost mother, Nadine Joseph, rushed after the 23-year-old woman and found her sitting on the floor with her son.
When Nadine tried to take the boy back, Agba shouted:
“No, this is my child”.
Agba wrapped her arms and legs around the boy, not allowing him to escape.
When Nadine tried to take him again, Agba reportedly pushed her away.
In the chaos that ensued, the women began to tug the boy back and forth between them, while he was clearly screaming.
Airport staff noticed the situation. Global Crossing Airlines customer service agent Natellet Montano quickly intervened.
According to local news, she grabbed the boy and held him behind the counter to protect him from potential harm.

Arrest and child's condition
According to Montano's colleague, Agba then
“crawled into the counter and we called 911”.
Airport workers noted that the woman crawled under the counter demanding to get the child back.
Three men blocked her path.
Agba reportedly fled the scene but was later apprehended.
The woman claimed she was trying to take the child to a wall decorated with a rainbow, hoping it would calm him.
She also admitted that she didn't remember the events after the mother of the boy returned, saying:
“I only did this because God told me to do it”.
The police told Fox News that at the time of the incident, she was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The boy suffered minor scratches on his neck but was able to board the flight with his mother.
The incident at Miami airport caused significant public outcry. Thanks to the quick actions of airport staff and bystanders, a serious threat to the child was averted. The situation illustrates how important attentiveness and readiness to help during critical moments is.
After the incident, an investigation was launched to clarify the circumstances of Agba's behavior. This underscores the importance of safety at airports and the need to adhere to security and passenger protection procedures.
