The mother and son were waiting in line at the checkpoint at 4 a.m. when the boy began to cry. Omisri Agba, 23, offered assistance but immediately attempted to flee with the child.
Concerned mother Nadine Joseph rushed to follow the woman and soon found her sitting on the floor with her son. When she tried to take the boy back, Omisri stated:
“No, that’s my child.”
Agba held the boy in a way that he couldn't escape, and when Nadine tried to take him again, Omisri reportedly shoved her.
In a fierce struggle, the two women pulled at the boy as he began to scream, attracting the attention of airport staff. Airline employee Natalet Montano quickly intervened and hid the boy behind a special table to protect him from harm.

Three men blocked her path. She attempted to flee the scene but was later detained.
She claimed she wanted to take the boy to a wall painted with a rainbow to calm him down, stating that she did not remember the details of the event after the mother arrived. According to her:
“I did this because God told me to do it.”
Authorities confirmed that the woman was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The boy sustained deep scratches on his neck but was able to board the flight with his mother.

Omisri Agba's incapacity was likely the result of psychological issues, as her actions shocked everyone present. Thanks to the prompt actions of airport staff and the boy's mother, a dangerous situation was avoided. The boy, though he sustained minor injuries, was able to return to his mother and continue his journey. Read also
