Poundland Closes Stores in Britain: Full List of Locations.
Closure of Poundland Stores
According to The Sun: The major British chain announces the closure of four of its stores next week, holding final sales.
Poundland, which employs 14,700 people, has recently faced financial pressure.

Earlier this week, the chain also closed stores in Market Harborough on October 9, Lowestoft on October 10, and Livingston (due to the end of the lease) on October 12.
Poundland, which had around 800 stores before the restructuring process began, will be left with 650-700 after all changes are complete.
The new owner, Gordon Brothers, purchased the business for a nominal sum of £1 and promised to invest £90 million to restore the brand.
The rescue plan includes closing 68 stores, cutting a thousand jobs, and shutting two warehouses, affecting 350 employees.
The restructuring also involves rent reductions in 180 stores and the closure of the food department and the Poundland website.
But not everything is so bleak. Earlier this week, Poundland confirmed that some stores originally slated for closure will remain open — a small glimmer of hope for affected communities and employees.
Among the saved branches are stores in the Rivergate centre in Irvine, Brighton (London Road), Anniesland (Great Western Road), and Whitby.
Additionally, seven more stores will close in unnamed locations.
“We know how upsetting it is when we close a store, but before we close our doors for the last time, we want to say goodbye by offering even more incredible discounts for customers,” said Poundland’s Retail Director, Darren Macdonald.
“These special discounts, which add to the value we provide daily in our stores, will help us leave with pride.”
“And when our doors close in these locations, we look forward to welcoming customers at one of the hundreds of Poundland stores that we will continue to operate across the UK.”
Other Changes at Poundland
Customers can no longer buy products on the Poundland website, and its loyalty program, Poundland Perks, has been canceled.
Customers of the loyalty program who signed up for the Poundland Perks app have until January 15, 2026, to use their rewards.
The chain will also close its frozen and digital distribution center in Darton, South Yorkshire, later this year.
The national distribution center in Bilston will close in early 2026.
Poundland is also launching major sales in some stores - discounts of up to 90%.
This news comes amid Poundland's return to fundamentals, with plans to increase the number of products sold for £1.
As part of the restructuring, prices for products in all stores will be implemented at £1, £2, and £3.
The retail chain hopes these changes will help win customers back while remaining true to its promise of great value.
The new pricing system will be gradually rolled out across all Poundland stores in the UK this month.

Getty The extensive restructuring at Poundland demonstrates significant changes in the chain’s business model as it seeks to adapt to new economic realities. The store closures will undoubtedly impact communities, yet it is possible that with these changes the company can return to stability and competitiveness in the retail market in Britain.Read also
