Conscription Exemption: Do I Need to Visit the Military Recruitment Center and Apply for Deferral?.
Ukrainian citizens who have received a conscription exemption do not need to additionally apply for deferral from conscription. They also do not need to visit the military recruitment center to report the exemption.
This was stated by lawyer Yuriy Aivazyan on the 'Yuristy.UA' portal.
Ukraine continues the process of general mobilization, which was initiated in connection with the declaration of martial law and the onset of full-scale war. Employees of enterprises that are strategically important for the Ukrainian economy may be exempted from conscription.
One citizen contacted lawyers while applying for an exemption. He clarified whether it was necessary for him to visit the recruitment center to apply for a deferral based on the exemption.
'No additional deferral is required when you have an exemption,' lawyer Yuriy Aivazyan explained to the citizen.
Need to Contact the Recruitment Center
According to the lawyer, this procedure should occur automatically after submitting a request in 'Diia,' where the exemption is processed. Aivazyan emphasized that the citizen overall does not need to contact the military recruitment center.
'There is also no need to additionally inform the recruitment center about the exemption,' the lawyer emphasized.
Recall that we previously wrote about how Ukrainians can check for the presence of a conscription exemption. Additionally, we informed that it is possible to obtain exemption without updating data.
Thus, Ukrainian conscripts who have received an exemption only need to contact 'Diia' to proceed with the procedure, without the need for additional application for deferral from conscription or visiting the recruitment center.
