VAKS confiscated the property of the former head of the TCC amounting to 3.8 million: what was taken from the state.
According to ТСН: The High Anti-Corruption Court has made a decision to confiscate the assets of Hennadiy Yaremenko, the former head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional TCC and SSP, into the state budget. During the review of his family’s income, it turned out that the acquisition of real estate and cars could not have been made with legal funds.
This information was provided by the State Bureau of Investigation, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, and the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption.
Although names were not mentioned, according to 'Ukrainska Pravda', it is indeed about Yaremenko.
Confiscation of Assets
The court established that the assets belonging to the former head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional TCC and his wife, totaling over 3.8 million UAH, have no legal origin.
In particular, these are:
a residential building and a land plot worth over 1.8 million UAH and 253 thousand UAH respectively;
two cars registered to the ex-official's wife;
20 thousand USD, received by the couple.
The court ruled to confiscate the real estate and recover the cash equivalent of one of the cars in the amount of 786 thousand UAH.
During the verification of the official's and his family's financial condition, it was revealed that legal incomes were insufficient to purchase the specified assets. It was also discovered that the assets were acquired with cash funds, while the confirmed incomes of the family were mostly spent cashlessly.
This verdict can be appealed within 30 days from the moment the full text of the court decision is prepared.
Raids in Transcarpathia
In addition, on December 29, the SBU and the National Police conducted searches among the leadership and employees of the Transcarpathian Regional TCC. These actions took place within the framework of a criminal proceeding regarding the unlawful deprivation of liberty of citizens. Law enforcement continues to gather evidence, and the details of the investigation and the results of the searches will be published later.
These events indicate an intensification of anti-corruption measures in Ukraine aimed at undermining corruption schemes in government agencies. The investigation against Yaremenko and the searches at the Transcarpathian TCC are part of a broader campaign against corruption that is gaining momentum in the country. Whether new information from the searches will provide additional details in the already initiated cases remains to be seen.
