Budget-2025: Parliament Committee Approved the Project with Significant Changes.
The Parliament's Budget Committee recommended the adoption of the draft state budget for 2025 in the first reading.
This was reported by the head of the committee, Roksolana Pidlasa.
The main changes to the budget project involve the complete redirection of Road Fund funds into the general budget fund for security and defense needs.
Funds will also be allocated for humanitarian demining and the purchase of new passenger cars.
In the social protection sector, significant changes are planned regarding payments to "Chernobyl victims." Only persons who lived in the exclusion zone from 1986 to 1993 will be entitled to a pension. This will save about 15 billion UAH.
Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine
The committee proposes to refuse transferring hospital bank accounts to the Treasury and introduce a graded pay system for the Parliament's Apparatus.
It is also planned to review the issue of awarding bonuses to local court judges.
Regarding local self-government, there is a consideration to direct 4% of personal income tax to the budgets of unified territorial communities. However, the reverse subsidy to local budgets will remain at the level of 12.9 billion UAH.
Salary Reduction for the Prosecutor's Office
The committee rejected the proposal to reduce the salary increase for prosecutor's office employees by 37%, which equals about 3 billion UAH. This was reported by Member of Parliament Yaroslav Zhelezniak.
