2026 Budget Amendments Get Initial Approval: Only 8 Out of 1,865 Proposals Accepted.
Revisions to the 2026 State Budget
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine's Budget Committee has given its backing to amendments for the 2026 state budget after reviewing proposed changes to the draft law. During the session, the committee rejected 1,857 proposed adjustments while approving just 8. The legislation secured support from 21 committee members, underscoring its role in the nation's financial planning.
Key Financial Allocations
Among the main financial shifts outlined in the draft law are:
- 10 million hryvnias redirected to the State Fisheries Agency's administrative body;
- 95 million hryvnias for the National Committee for Sports of the Disabled's administration;
- 559.1 million hryvnias allocated to the Ministry of Energy's operations;
- 127.5 million hryvnias designated for mine closures;
- 46.1 million hryvnias for the State Energy Supervision Authority;
- 599.1 million hryvnias for the State Agency for Exclusion Zone Management;
- 1.4 billion hryvnias set aside for salaries of the Judicial Protection Service staff.
Salaries for employees of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) will remain tied to the subsistence minimum, currently set at 3,328 hryvnias. Additionally, the road fund is projected to amount to 25% of its target by 2027. Committee member Roksolana Pidlasa confirmed support for these amendments, highlighting their significance for the country's development.
Adopting these changes to the 2026 budget represents a crucial step toward ensuring the state's financial stability.
The committee's endorsement of the budget signals the need to fund critical sectors like energy and social protection, which could shape overall public welfare. However, despite backing important initiatives, keeping NABU salaries at such a low level raises concerns about employee motivation and the effectiveness of anti-corruption efforts in Ukraine.
