On February 25, 2025, the young soul of Ivan Snihir was extinguished, who sacrificed his life defending the territorial integrity of Ukraine in Sumy and Kharkiv regions. This information was spread by the Lviv City Council in cooperation with 'Glavkom'.
Ivan Snihir was born on July 22, 1999, in Mykolaiv. He excelled in his secondary school in the village of Novomykolaivka. He also successfully graduated from the Pryvomaisk community council lyceum in Mykolaiv district of Mykolaiv region. After that, Ivan went to Zaporizhia region, where he served in the military.
In 2020, Ivan moved to Lviv, where he worked at the 'Zakhid-Holding' Company.
According to his relatives, Ivan was an extremely kind, caring, and devoted man who always put his family first. He adored his wife and deeply loved his Motherland. Even through the difficult hardships of his childhood, he managed to keep his love for life and a wonderful sense of humor. Ivan was a person for whom the impossible always became possible.
After the invasion of Russian aggressors began, Ivan voluntarily joined the ranks of the First Border Detachment of the Eastern Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, defending his country in Kharkiv and Sumy regions. During the combat mission, he sustained serious injuries.
The farewell ceremony for Ivan Snihir took place on March 5 at the Garrison Church of Saints Peter and Paul. The hero was buried at Lychakiv Cemetery.

In honor of the memory of the fallen heroes of the Ukrainian land, 'Glavkom' joins in a moment of silence. We light candles of remembrance and bow in sorrow before the fallen Ukrainians who gave their lives for freedom and independence: military personnel, civilians, and children, all those who died in the fight against Russian occupiers and as a result of the attack of hostile troops on Ukrainian cities and villages.
