Cadillac takes an unexpected step: the new generation CT5 will receive a gasoline engine.
Cadillac announces the new CT5 with ICE
According to Korrespondent.net: Cadillac officially announced the development of a new generation CT5 sedan, which will be equipped with a traditional internal combustion engine. According to Carscoops, this decision was unexpected, as the company is actively transitioning to electric vehicles, but the demand for ICE vehicles remains stable.
Steps towards producing new models
Global Cadillac Vice President John Roth stated that the CT4 will cease production in June 2026, while the CT5 will follow shortly after that year. At the same time, the CT5 will receive a new gasoline version, which will be produced at the Lansing Grand River Assembly plant in the USA.
Initially, the plant was planned to be transformed into an electric vehicle hub with the support of the U.S. Department of Energy, but Cadillac decided to find a balance between electric and traditional models.
Details of the upcoming model
The company noted that the new CT5 will be sold in the USA and Canada, and details regarding its specifications and design will be announced later.
It was previously reported that Cadillac presented one of the fastest crossovers in the brand.
