Pension System Reform in Ukraine
The publication on RBC Ukraine discusses the changes in the pension system under the leadership of Yuliya Svyrydenko. The government should implement a mandatory savings pension system to address the issues arising in the solidarity system, which is currently demonstrating low effectiveness. Minister of Social Policy Denys Uliutin noted that the transition to a savings model is extremely important for ensuring the stability of the pension system in the future. The solidarity system faces serious difficulties in providing adequate pensions to Ukrainians, particularly due to the increasing number of pensioners and other factors. One of the main advantages of the savings model is the ability for each worker to take care of their own pension by investing funds in reliable financial instruments. The head of the expert-analytical council of the Ukrainian Analytical Center, Borys Kushniruk, emphasized that the savings system will be an important complement to the solidarity one and will ensure a more stable pension system in all its aspects. The introduction of the savings system can significantly change the approaches to pension provision in Ukraine. This will not only improve the financial stability of pension payments but also significantly increase citizens' responsibility for their future. Changes in pension policy can be an important step towards improving social protection for Ukrainians.Read also
