Driving Instructor Salaries Surge 19% as Ukraine Faces Severe Staff Shortage.
Rising Pay for Driving Instructors
According to Novyny.live: A severe shortage of qualified personnel is driving up average salaries for driving instructors in Ukraine. Over the past year, the number of job openings has skyrocketed by 114%, while wages have climbed 19%. The current average salary for driving instructors in Ukraine now stands at 47,500 UAH. This pay bump reflects a growing demand for skilled professionals in this field, a trend that has accelerated as more people seek driving lessons.
Compared to June of last year, driving instructor wages have increased by 19%, and by mid-June 2026, the average pay had risen by 7,500 UAH. In Kyiv, the average salary for driving instructors reaches 55,000 UAH, which is 10% higher than in June 2025. This indicates that the capital's labor market offers higher compensation for specialists in this industry, likely due to greater demand and higher living costs.
Staff Deficit and Demand for Professionals
The number of job vacancies for driving instructors has jumped 114% over the last year, highlighting a significant talent gap. In Kyiv alone, the need for driving teachers has increased by 45% in the past year, pointing to active growth in this sector.
- Most vacancies (18%) offer salaries ranging from 47,000 to 52,000 UAH;
- Around 13% fall between 57,000 and 62,000 UAH;
- 9.2% are in the 42,000 to 47,000 UAH range;
- 12.8% offer between 27,000 and 32,000 UAH.
As a result, the rising demand for driving instructors in Ukraine is boosting wages and creating more opportunities for those looking to enter this field. This trend could be a key factor for anyone considering a career as a driving instructor, as the labor market shows positive momentum.
The increase in driving instructor salaries reflects not only improved working conditions in this profession but also broader labor market trends in Ukraine, where a shortage of skilled workers is evident across multiple sectors.
Should demand for auto services and driving instruction continue to grow, we can expect further changes in instructor earnings and working conditions, which may encourage new professionals to join the field.
