Attack on Valdai: Ukrainian diplomat reveals the purpose of Russia's fake news after Zelensky's conversation with Trump

According to ТСН: Russian statements about an alleged attack by Ukrainian drones on Vladimir Putin's residence in Valdai appear to be part of a well-thought-out disinformation campaign. This activity began to intensify immediately after the conversation between Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump, which may indicate an intention to influence negotiation positions.

This was revealed by Ukrainian diplomat Roman Bezsmertnyi in an interview. He emphasized that Moscow's version absolutely does not withstand any criticism, even at a superficial level.

Disinformation amid negotiations

Bezsmertnyi noted that a large-scale distribution of disinformation started on the day of the negotiations between the Ukrainian president and the American leader along with European politicians.

“The flow was so dense that it stood out. There was so much blatant falsehood — both on the front and in the negotiation process. It was obvious: the space is being deliberately filled with 'gray noise'. This is always done with one goal — to prepare the ground for some operation,” explained the diplomat.

Discrepancies in Russian reports

The diplomat also drew attention to inconsistencies in official Russian reports, indicating that the 'attack' was fabricated hastily.

“This is complete lies. Already at the level of arithmetic. The Russian Ministry of Defense released one figure, Lavrov — another. How can there be 90 drones in the Novgorod region if only 94 were launched in total? And of them, only about ten were in this region,” noted Bezsmertnyi.

He also refuted information about Donald Trump's possible reaction to this incident.

“Trump did not publicly say anything about it. All we hear is the retelling 'from Ushakov' (Putin's assistant — ed.). When a text, allegedly said by Trump but voiced by Ushakov, is circulated — this is a lie from the first to the last letter,” he emphasized.

Conclusions about a possible attack

Commenting on the possibility of a strike on the dictator, Bezsmertnyi expressed regret that the information about the attack turned out to be fake.

“It’s bad that there was no strike on Valdai. And it’s bad that Putin survived. And this time too. I want us to be clearly aware of this,” declared the politician.

He emphasized that Putin is considered an internationally recognized war criminal, and there is an arrest warrant issued against him.

“He is a legitimate military target. Wherever he may be, he must be hunted by a drone, a ballistic missile, anything. He cannot even be compared to Osama bin Laden. The scale of victims and destruction that Putin has brought is incomparable. Therefore, any object where Putin is present is a legitimate target,” summarized Bezsmertnyi.

The statements of Roman Bezsmertnyi emphasize Ukraine's clear position on the disinformation from Russia, especially in the context of international negotiations. The presence of calls for serious responses to Putin's actions indicates heightened tension in the relationships between the participating countries, requiring close attention from the global community.
