This is not the end: experts warned about further fuel price increases at gas stations.
Ukrainian motorists were shocked by a price shock due to the conflict in the Middle East, which led to a sharp increase in fuel prices. Prices for gasoline and diesel fuel have increased by more than 2 hryvnias per liter over the past week due to rising oil prices to an average of $76 per barrel. This increase was caused by conflicts between Israel and Iran, as well as changes in the exchange rate.
The company 'A-95' reports that prices for European quotations of gasoline and diesel fuel have risen on average by $42 and $80 per ton respectively. This has directly affected prices at Ukrainian gas stations. From June 16 to June 23, the price of gasoline rose by 2.31 hryvnias per liter, reaching 51.59 UAH per liter. The price of diesel fuel also increased by 3.67 hryvnias per liter, rising to 50.85 UAH per liter.
Retail chains reacted diversely to the price increase. The greatest increase in fuel costs was felt by customers of medium and low-price segment stores, where fuel prices increased by 4-4.50 hryvnias per liter.
The widespread increase in fuel prices is caused by conflicts in the Middle East and other geopolitical factors, such as changes in the exchange rate. This price shock will be felt by Ukrainian car owners in their wallets, as the costs of refueling will be significantly higher than before.
