Waiting for Trump: Zelensky said when Ukraine may end the war.
Zelensky: Ukraine has every chance to end the war next year
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said at the 3rd International Conference on Food Security Grain from Ukraine that the war in Ukraine could be concluded next year.
Zelensky announced that he expects new proposals from U.S. President Donald Trump regarding a plan to end the war, which could be presented as early as January.
'We are open, I say again, and, by the way, not just to the leaders of African countries but also to those in Asia and Arab states... We are ready to consider their proposals. I also want to see proposals from the new President of the United States. I am sure that we will see these proposals in January. And I think we will have a plan to end this war', - said Zelensky.
The president also noted that Ukraine has its own plan and does not wish to listen to proposals from partners in other regions, as it is not true.
According to Zelensky, when the U.S. takes a strong position, the global South will be on Ukraine's side and help to end the war.
'I am confident that we have every chance to do this next year (to end the war, - ed.). We have already taken certain steps in this direction... We understand that Russia will not approve all these steps. But there is a UN Charter, and our actions based on the UN Charter will be supported by our partners', - added the president.
Zelensky also previously expressed his dissatisfaction with the actions of the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada on November 22.
