March 19: Border Guards Advise Avoiding 7 Checkpoints Amid Long Queues.
Current Status at Border Crossing Points
According to Novyny.live: On March 19, significant queues were reported at seven border checkpoints in Ukraine. In response, border officials are urging travelers to bypass certain crossings and plan their routes in advance to minimize delays. This advisory comes as cross-border traffic increases during the spring season.
Breakdown by Border
At the Polish border, conditions are as follows:
- 'Yahodyn' checkpoint – no buses recorded;
- 'Ustyluh' checkpoint – 15 cars waiting;
- 'Krakovets' checkpoint – 30 cars observed;
- 'Shehyni' checkpoint – 15 cars waiting.
On the Slovakian border, 11 cars are queued at the 'Uzhhorod' checkpoint. Along the Hungarian border, 'Tysa' has 2 cars and 1 bus waiting, while 'Kosyno' and 'Luzhanka' each report 5 cars.
At the Romanian border, no queues are recorded at 'Diakove' or 'Solotvyno'—both checkpoints are clear of cars. A similar situation holds for the Moldovan border: 'Mamalyha' and 'Kelmentsi' also report no waiting vehicles.
Given the congestion at these crossings, border guards emphasize the importance of careful trip planning and choosing alternative routes to avoid hold-ups. Travelers are advised to stay updated on real-time conditions to save time and reduce stress.
To ensure smoother journeys, it is essential to monitor the latest checkpoint data and opt for less crowded paths. Since conditions can shift quickly, having timely information allows people to plan their trips more efficiently.
