The government freezes water tariffs: Shmyhal's decision for the population.
According to ТСН: Water tariffs for the population will remain unchanged.
This information was confirmed by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko.
She noted that the government has appealed to the NEURC with a request to postpone the planned tariff changes.
"Our position is clear: in times of war, people should not feel additional financial pressure."
The Prime Minister also emphasized that the next step will be joint work of the Cabinet and NEURC on a decision that will ensure a balance between the interests of consumers and the needs of service providers so that water utilities do not lose financial stability and do not find themselves in debt.
This government initiative aims to reduce the financial burden on the population during wartime and ensure the stability of municipal enterprises. The situation with water supply tariffs leaves open questions regarding the long-term financing of water utilities, which need support for uninterrupted operation.
