New Year’s Eve: Scheduled Power Outages Expected in Ukraine.
According to ТСН: On New Year’s Eve in Ukraine, the usual schedules of hourly power outages are likely to be in effect again. Experts believe that this will be the best option.
The Situation in the Energy System Remains Vulnerable
The head of the State Energy Supervision Anatoliy Zamulko noted that it is currently difficult and risky to make predictions due to possible attacks from Russia and the drop in temperature.
“If we reach our usual schedules of restrictions with the drop in temperature and available capacities and they are applied predictably and correctly, this will be the most acceptable option,” Zamulko stated.
He added that on New Year’s Eve there is usually a decrease in the load on the energy system, so one can expect an increase in electricity supply. However, one should be careful with such predictions, as the enemy may act unexpectedly.
“We do not know how the enemy will act from Wednesday to Thursday. And if we come to the usual predicted schedules of restrictions, this will probably be quite the right question and the right decision today,” the head of the State Energy Supervision concluded.
Earlier, information was reported about the situation in Ukraine’s energy system due to a massive attack by the Russian Federation. In particular, there are consumers without electricity in Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions.
Measures to limit consumption have also been implemented in most regions of Ukraine — hourly outages for all categories of consumers and power restriction schedules for industry and business.
Currently, Ukraine’s energy system is in a difficult situation. Given the possible threats, it is advisable to prepare for potential outages on New Year’s Eve. Stay updated with current information to be aware of the latest changes in the situation.
