Ukrainian Artists in Ukraine: Kharkiv Residents Divided on Their Performances.
After the start of the full-scale Russian war, Ukrainian artists divided into two groups. Some condemn the war, express support for Ukraine, and leave for abroad, while others become Kremlin propagandists. Do Russian artists who are against the war have the right to perform in Ukraine? This question is being raised more and more often.
Are Kharkiv residents welcoming of the performances of Russian artists in Ukraine?
News.LIVE conducted a survey among Kharkiv residents on this topic. People's opinions are divided. Some believe that it is too early to do this, as society needs time to renew generations. There is also a risk that supporters of war will come to the country, albeit disguised.
'I believe that no. Because, firstly, people need to be given time to overcome these difficulties. When you lose loved ones due to the war, you don't care who they are fighting for — you only have hatred for the enemy, and that is understandable.'— noted one of Kharkiv residents.
Others have a neutral attitude. Regarding artists who express support for Ukraine, many Kharkiv residents have no objection to their performances. But there are those who think that after victory, only those artists who openly advocate for Ukraine and actively help the Armed Forces should be invited.
Summary: Ukrainian society is divided on the issue of the possibility of performances by Russian artists on the territory of the country. Some believe that a certain period of time must pass until the wounds of the war heal, and only after that can we talk about restoring cultural ties. Others believe that it is important to allow performances only by those artists who openly express support for Ukraine and have no contacts with propaganda structures from Russia.Read also
