The Price of Presence: How Musk is Becoming a Burden for Trump.
Trump Wants to Get Rid of Musk, but Can't
U.S. President Donald Trump is concerned about the rapid rise of Elon Musk's influence. Musk is trying to gain more power, but he has been denied funding for Trump's political committees. Musk's influence is harming the Republican Party.
Most senators fear losing their positions if they receive 10 million dollars from Musk, as the platform X could ruin the career of any cabinet member. Musk does not understand how the federal government works, so his actions are causing damage. His influence also weakens the position of the head of the White House Office of Management and Budget, Russell Vought.
Vought is working on plans to reform the bureaucratic system in the U.S., but Musk is hindering him. Moreover, Musk relies on contracts with the Pentagon, but Vought is unashamed to criticize them. Musk's influence on Trump’s policies towards China is also increasing, as his commercial dependence on China grows. His soft position towards Beijing is not helping.
