Vegetable Prices for Borscht Have Changed: What Became Cheaper and What Became More Expensive.
According to inkorr.com: The prices for vegetables necessary for making borscht have changed this autumn, reports analyst Maksym Hopko. Potatoes have become cheaper, while the price of onions has risen.
Pricing Trends
The expert notes that this year's vegetable harvest has been better compared to last year due to favorable weather conditions. Vegetable production has been evenly distributed across different regions, although southern areas have suffered losses due to the war. Climate changes have also helped grow crops that would not have had chances there before.
“In recent weeks, potatoes have slightly decreased in price — at the end of October they were sold for 10 to 12 hryvnias per kilogram”
Analysis of Vegetable Prices
According to the analyst, the prices for white cabbage have decreased and remain stable due to a sufficient harvest. As for carrots and beets, their prices have hardly changed, while onions have become more expensive this season.
Thus, thanks to favorable weather conditions, this year's prices for vegetables for borscht have seen minor changes. Potatoes have become cheaper, while onions have become more expensive, while other vegetables have remained with stable prices.
