Fuel Prices in Ukraine

According to Novyny.live: Fuel prices in Ukraine are declining, but changes at gas stations are happening slowly. The main driver behind these shifts is the global oil price, which has fallen from $100–115 per barrel to around $80 per barrel. This reduction directly impacts Ukrainian fuel costs, yet the market still faces a shortage of fuel, particularly diesel.

Fuel Prices as of June 17, 2023

  • Premium A-95 gasoline: 79.10 UAH per liter
  • A-95 gasoline: 75.07 UAH per liter
  • A-92 gasoline: 68.84 UAH per liter
  • Diesel fuel: 81.79 UAH per liter
  • Autogas: 44.43 UAH per liter

Although prices have started to drop, their further reduction at gas stations is not happening as fast as one might expect.

“Prices have already started to decline and will continue to fall.”

Serhiy Fursa

He also added: “If it keeps dropping to the level seen before the conflict began, then prices at Ukrainian gas stations will return to that level as well.” Thus, it can be concluded that the decline in fuel prices depends on the continued movement of global oil prices and the situation in the domestic market.

The drop in fuel prices in Ukraine could have a positive impact on the economy, particularly on the cost of goods and services, since fuel is a major expense for many industries. However, the fuel shortage—especially for diesel—could slow this process and lead to market instability. Future changes in global oil prices will likely be key factors shaping fuel price trends in Ukraine in the near term.
