Gasoline up to 70 hryvnias in October: expert names the reason for sharp price increase.
According to inkorr.com: Sergiy Kuyun, head of the consulting company 'A-95', forecasts that the price of gasoline in Ukraine may reach 65-70 hryvnias per liter as early as October due to possible restrictions on fuel imports from India. The expert notes that a sharp price increase is not expected at the moment, however, the increase in excise taxes in 2025 may cause fuel prices to rise by at least one hryvnia per liter.
Import Restrictions from India
Experts point out that a significant portion of imported fuel passes through the Romanian port of Constanta and originates from Turkey and India. If control over fuel from Indian refineries of Reliance Industries tightens, Ukrainian importers may encounter difficulties as early as the beginning of October.
Forecasts and Rising Excise Taxes
Currently, the price of gasoline is 58.74 UAH per liter, and diesel fuel is 55.86 UAH per liter. Experts emphasize that while a sharp price increase is not expected in October, the rise in excise taxes from next year may lead to an increase of one hryvnia per liter.
This situation in the fuel market may have a significant impact on consumers and the economy of the country as a whole. Rising fuel prices usually lead to increased transportation costs for goods, which in turn may push up the prices of other goods and services. We will monitor the developments.
