Electricity prices are falling in Europe, but rising in Ukraine: Poppenko compared tariffs.
Reduction of electricity tariffs in Europe
Energy expert Oleg Poppenko announced on his Telegram channel a significant drop in electricity prices for European residents. According to him, from the end of 2022 to July 2024, there was an average price reduction by 67%.
According to Household Energy Price Index (HEPI) data for August 2024, Germany has the highest electricity price - 0.39 euros per kWh. On the other hand, Ukraine is among the countries with the lowest tariffs - 0.10 euros per kWh.

Compared to most European countries, Ukraine has a low electricity tariff rate. The price in Ukraine (0.10 euros) is significantly lower than in Germany (0.39 euros) and other Western European countries. It is comparable to tariffs in Serbia and Hungary but higher than in Bulgaria (0.09 euros) and Norway (0.07 euros).
