Vegetable market in turmoil: what is happening to the prices of cabbage, onions, and carrots in summer.
According to the data from the Minfin portal, significant changes in vegetable prices occurred in Ukraine in June.
The analysis of current prices shows a varied dynamics in the cost of cabbage, onions, and carrots compared to May.
Cabbage is the only vegetable that has significantly decreased in price. The price of young cabbage has almost halved - from 65.17 UAH to 33.27 UAH per kilogram. On the other hand, white cabbage has increased in price from 71.91 to 93 UAH per kilogram.
Onions have also become more expensive: white onions averaged twice as much - from 32.94 to 67.99 UAH per kilogram, while young bulb onions decreased from 47.25 to 26.20 UAH per kilogram.
As for carrots, mixed dynamics are observed: regular carrots have risen in price by 42% - from 54.89 to 77.70 UAH, while young carrots have slightly decreased from 92.16 to 89.99 UAH per kilogram.
Changes in fruit prices
Recently, changes in the prices of bananas, oranges, and lemons in summer were also published.
In June, significant changes in vegetable prices occurred in Ukraine, some of which noticeably became more expensive, but again, cabbage turned out to be a strange exception, where one type became cheaper while another increased its price.
