A native of Ivano-Frankivsk received 15 years for service in the Russian army: details of the sentence.

A man born in Ivano-Frankivsk who participated in the war on the side of Russia against the Armed Forces of Ukraine was convicted of treason and collaboration.

The decision was made by the Ivano-Frankivsk City Court of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast on August 11.

Case Details

According to the court proceedings, in 2019, the man was tried in Odesa for separatism. In 2022, he joined Russia in the temporarily occupied Olenivka in the Donetsk region, and in October 2023, in Mariupol, he joined the Russian battalion named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky, which was part of the DPR.
