GPT-5 revealed an unexpected problem: why most ChatGPT users are mistaken.
As GPT-5 was being prepared for release, OpenAI promised a revolution, but the user community was divided. The explanation for this issue came from Sam Altman, who showed that many people simply do not use the reasoning models designed for more accurate responses.
the percentage of users using reasoning models each day is significantly increasing; for example, for free users we went from <1% to 7%, and for plus users from 7% to 24%. i expect use of reasoning to greatly increase over time, so rate limit increases are important.

Many ChatGPT users are eager to get quick and straightforward answers rather than spend time on 'thoughtful' thinking, which may explain why the use of reasoning models remains quite low.
While the distribution of users utilizing reasoning models is gradually increasing, specialists advise being cautious about sharing confidential information in chat and carefully formulating requests to artificial intelligence.
