Zelensky arrived in Kupiansk: why the city is critical for the Russian Federation.
According to ТСН: Kupiansk is an important logistical hub for the Russians, which is why the enemy is trying so hard to seize this city.
The military observer noted that the Russian command has already informed Putin three times about the capture of Kupiansk, but each time serious problems arose along the way.
“Currently, the cleaning of the center of Kupiansk from the remnants of the infiltrated groups is ongoing, and on the outskirts, our military is successfully carrying out the cleaning from the occupiers,”- the observer emphasized.
He also added that the Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi station is a key logistical hub. If the enemy captures this city, it will significantly improve their supply of ammunition and fuel by railway, which is critically important for the offensive.
Earlier, it was reported that Russia is trying to strike from the air at the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kupiansk.
It is recalled that the Russian dictator Putin claimed that the occupiers had completely captured Kupiansk and Vovchansk in the Kharkiv region. However, on December 12 Zelensky arrived in the city, who recorded a video address as evidence that the enemy did not occupy Kupiansk.
This situation in Kupiansk underscores the strategic importance of this city for both sides of the conflict. Losing control over Kupiansk could significantly complicate the logistical routes for the Russian troops, while for Ukraine, it means the possibility of maintaining and controlling vital communications. Therefore, the struggle for Kupiansk will continue, and the further developments in this region could significantly affect the course of military actions throughout the conflict zone.
