New Walkers Advent Calendar

According to The Sun: A new crispy advent calendar has recently appeared in stores, perfect for those who love savory snacks and want to immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere.

Walkers has introduced an advent calendar for snacks, containing 24 packs of treats such as Quavers, Wotsits, Squares, and Monster Munch.

The new Walkers advent calendar can be found at Home Bargains for a price of £9.99.

Customers are already rushing to Home Bargains, where the calendar is available for purchase. However, some express outrage at the product's price. On eBay, the advent calendar is also being sold for £16.99.

One customer shared a photo of the advent calendar on the popular Facebook page New Food Spotter UK.

“A tenner for 24 bags of crisps!? Are you having a laugh?”

Another user noted that buying standard multipacks of Walkers would be cheaper. He joked:

“Think I’ll just buy a couple of multi packs and close my eyes when picking one each day.”

Walkers Classic multipacks can be found in several UK supermarkets for a price lower than that of the advent calendar. They contain 20 bags of crisps, with prices at £4.85 in Tesco and £4.25 in Iceland.

By buying two multipacks, you get 40 bags of crisps — nearly twice as many as in the calendar, and at a lower price.

Growing Popularity of Unconventional Advent Calendars

Recently, unconventional advent calendars have gained popularity. Retailers like Boots and Sephora offer beauty advent calendars with various makeup items and attractive products.

Aldi recently introduced its budget version for £19.99. The 12-day Lacura beauty advent calendar will hit the shelves on October 26.

M&S also has its version of this popular product, selling it for £60 with a purchase of over £35 on clothing, home goods, and cosmetics. The retailer claims that the total value of the products in the package is £330, containing 25 items, eight of which are full-sized.

Other Festive Grocery Purchases

Additionally, supermarkets are reducing prices on Christmas chocolate selections as households begin to shop ahead of time. Tesco offers popular Quality Street chocolates for £6, which is £1 cheaper than at other retailers.

Customers can also purchase a 550g tub from Aldi for just £4.42, whereas Lidl sells the same tub for £4.39. Tesco has also reduced the price of Guylian chocolates to £7.50, which is half the price of Amazon, where they sell for £14.99.

Despite the price criticism of the Walkers advent calendar, the demand for unconventional calendars is growing, indicating new trends in festive shopping. Supermarkets are actively responding to consumer requests by offering a wide range of festive products that truly cater to various tastes.

Such innovations indicate that retailers continue to seek innovative ways to meet customer needs during the festive season when market competition intensifies.
